Going on jade in february 2012 whats the price of a bottle of wine at dinner.
The quick answer is no. We cruised with NCL through the Panama Canal a few years ago on our Golden wedding Anmniversary. On the flight to Miami, we were given a number of small bottles on wine by the aircrew and without thinking, we put three of these in one of our cases when staying overnight in Miami. Only one case was brought to our stateroom. We reported one case as missing, but the following day found the the case had been scanned and held by security. We had to remove the bottles and these were held by the ship until the end of cruise.
If you read the information contained in the NCL brochure, I think that you will find the answer is DEFINITELY NOT! That is one of the reasons that I will never travel on NCL again. That, and the 15% added to everything you pay for onboard! Stick to P&O my friend.
You are quite right its a no no -i guess the crew complains as they loose their 15percent ......THEY ARE HAPPY TO SELL YOU DUTY FREE BUT YOU CANT GET IT UNTIL THE LAST DAY .if you like a drink in your cabin/balcony (and why not ) it becomes very expensive .At least P.O. sell you Liq for your cabin .I witnessed many people at the gangway having it taken away on a recent NCL cruise in the med .

It is not permitted to take alcohol on board. Also, they do not have a duty free shop where you can buy bottles of spirits or cartons of cigarettes. You have to pay through the nose for drink. They are NOT large measures, just a single shot, even the wine is measured. On top of this if you want sprite or any other branded mixer instead of the disgustingly sweet mixer provided, you pay extra. another one dollar 50 ( for the mixer alone ) plus the 15% on every single drink. So a single vodca would cost 5 dollar 50 cents plus 15% plus 1 dollar 50 cents plus 15% for your mixer to go with it ) Very expensive. I would suggest you use your common sense, and take you own bottle of spirits on board. We did, not only in our luggage, but also on the gangway. You do not have to be Einstein to work out how to do it. We are not mean, but do not like being ripped off. We have done around 10 cruises with P and O, and have never had a problem . We buy at the bar, and also have drink delivered from the duty free shop to our cabin, along with mixers, as many other many other passengers do. We would never cruise with NCL again. The entertainment was rubbish, paid for Cagneys speciality restaurent, again, not worth the 20 dollars each, TV rubbish, could never get a sunbed, but lucky we had a suite with balcony. Daytime activities almost non exsistant, did line dancing once. Bingo very expensive, 20 and 30 dollars, but payout small. We have booked a cruise with P and O for later this year, and looking forward to it. At least we wont be on CCTV, like NCL Jade. Cameras are everywhere. Tables never wiped down in buffet, food nearly always cold. Needless to say, we along with most other passengers on ship, had gratuity removed. If the service had been good, we would not have done so, but is was very poor. Used room service once, and the steward was extremely rude, so never used it again. It was reported, and superiors were aware of who it was, as it had not been the first complaint. We went we Jade in JUne 2008, but as I said, never again. We are going back to P and O .
