Sorry, can't help on this one - we're also on VOS in October (18th) - decided to go for the short Pisa trip (incl the tower). What date are you sailing on?

Florence is around 60miles from Livorno so the journey each way could be around 1.5hours, which will leave you only 2 hours in Florence. You need to decide whether the travelling time is worth it or opt for Pisa which is much closer.

You can always go by train to florence, in may we did florence and Pisa in a day by train having three hours in florence and an hour in Pisa for less than 20 pounds each.

The ships tours are expensive. Florence and Pisa are easy enough to do on your own. More fun if you grab a few new friends and take them with you. Have a great holiday. Voyager is fantastic went to the caribbean on her.
