I suggest that you take a taxi from the port when you arrive there, and visit some of the sights around Barcelona in the morning, I recommend Gaudi's church etc, (Try not to take hand luggage and then you won't have to worry about carrying around, or make sure it is secure and give it to Cunnard as they take your cases at the airport) There are also tourist buses that you can hop on in Barcelona. This would make better use of your time and save you hanging about in the port. On the other end I am not sure who has told you Cunnard will arrange for a tour , it takes 90 mins to get to Rome from port, and then obviously you will need to get back back to the airport in time to check in. The tours to Rome don't usually get back until 6pm. On our last day Cunnard let us use the ships facilities (not the cabins of course) and we were able to go off and see Barcelona under our own steam, and then get back onboard for what turned out to be a lovely lunch in The Britania Restuarant. Then we went up on deck and just relaxed, and even went in for a meal later in the Lido. I felt Cunnard had tried to look after us on that last day in some way and it was a bonus to see a bit of Barcelona. However as for the airline, well I wouldn't choose to fly with Titan Airlines again. The flight times were ridiculous, (we had to check in from 2.30am onwards for the 5.30 am flight! We couldn't board the ship until 12noon. The food was awful on the flight on the way back (cold fish cakes a a leaf of lettuce) everyone on the flight complained. It also felt very cramped and took off late. All that said though we had a lovely cruise, the ship is breathtaking, food was great, you could eat as healthily or as unhealthily as you wanted! The entertainment was good, the Theatre must be the envy of many other cruise line. So don't let the flight spoil your holiday. Can I also say I had a medical emergency on board the ship, and the medical team were first class. I would definately sail with Cunsrd again. Hope this is helpful. Enjoy your holiday .

If Cunard are taking care of your flights and transfers then it is there problem to get you there. Check with Cunard and see if there is not a trip you might go on before being dropped off at the airport and it will help kill some time.

We also have had an 8 hour flight change with Titan losing out on 8 hours at Venice. Cunard have offered no help in any way. They say we either accept the change or go from Gatwick meaning a 500 mile round trip for us in Liverpool. They told us if want to fly with another airline it is at our own additional cost. My view is if they choose to charter this airline they should take responsibility for the upset and disruption to Victoria passengers. We are very dissapointed in the way Cunard have dealt with our complaint. Have you had any luck with complaining to them?

Thankyou for your reply, sorry to hear you have problems as well. I thought that this might have been a one off, but it seems it isn't. Cunard have just side stepped the whole issue, saying it is down to the airline. The closer the day of departure comes the more I am dreading it really. Checking in at 3.30am, take off at 5.40 am, a 2 hr flight, but then embarkation not happening until 2pm. There is going to be a plane load of unhappy, tired passengers. Apparently the airport lounges aren't even open until 20 minutes after take off. Still, I am looking forward to the actual cruise itself, but would never recommend anyone to fly with Titan airways, and think the timings of the flight are the worst we have ever had, so much for the so called club class service. And as for benefiting from a dedicated Cunard check in, well they will probably be the only ones checking people in at 3.30 in the morning! Cunard should take responsibility, they hold the purse strings for these flights, and need to think about the logistics of the flights and the impact on passengers.

I would like to know how your experience went with this airline. We fly to Barcelona in October at 6.30am and will have a long wait to board. Coming back we do not fly until 6.50pm from Rome, so will have a full day to kill. We have been told that cunard will bus us around on a tour, but we have to pay for our own lunch etc. We would not have taken this cruise if we had know this. Please let me know. We cruise Cunard/Victoria.
