Find Your Cruise
They would be pretty heartless if they didn't allow it in fact they should, as it's your honeymoon, provide you with a bottle anyway. If I were you I would just take oneor two and when you are in your cabin ask for an ice bucket and fresh ice. You can find out the voltage used on the ship you choose by going to the "Berlitz" section and it is always advisable to take a small pack of various adaptors wherever you go....Good Luck....Nei.
I have found that some cruise lines actually search your luggage as you go on for alcohol bought on shore, so be careful as they can take it away from you and they will and then give it back to you at the end of the cruise.I remember rccl being the worst culprits at this.
you have been warned !
You are right, Royal Caribbean do not allow any alcohol to be taken on board even though their sister company, Celebrity, now allow you to take a bottle of wine each aboard when you embark. and even put a corkscrew in your cabin. They can and do take alcoholic beverages from you after that port but return them to you at the end of the cruise. So many more cruise lines are now adapting this policy because it means extra revenue to them. The story has it that one of the RCI ships had a graduation party of American teens who overindulged and created damage so much of a nuisance with liquor smuggled on board a discriminatory rule was set up to prevent this happening again and that rule has been widened to engulf all passengers. RCI have not now relented even a little inspite of the furore created by many passengers but from talks with other passengers it is clear that many do successfully smuggle it onboard. The best ships allowing goods purchased ashore was P & O whether this is still the case I'm not sure. You might find a specific answer on the back pages (in the small print) of the NCL brochure or ask your agent to ring NCL without mentioning your name. Another long-winded reply to your question and I still feel that if you tell them when you are going on board it would take a real "jobsworth" to stop you. Once more good luck....Nei.
