What is your budget, where do you want to cruise from, do you want to fly to meet the ship or cruise out of England, what places do you want to see, when are you wanting to travel......more info would enable us to help answer your question.
I have only been on the ocean village one. -first time this year.It was brilliant. Nice every day people, very informal, easy going atmosphere, lots of fun, great staff, went on the greek islands itinary. Gorgeous. We are off to Jamaica on tuesday trying a Carribean cruise -Toucans and Tequila. Sure you and your sons would love this ship.
The options are enormous and as our friends from Newbury say it would help to know more of your likes and dislikes. ...But you can go on a ship with so many activities the boys won't have time to do them all, you can see the sites of antiquity around the Med or Mexico or even have a week in Orlando and a week in the Caribbean, all of this and so much more could appeal to you and the boys ....but may not, so come on the Richardsons ...indulge us....Nei.
Our sons are sporty so will join in the sporty activities but the make or break will be whether there are others of their own age on board too and that there are plenty of things for them to do. I can see that there are offerings on board for young children and adults, but we need to entertain a teenager (not easy i know. Regarding the the other issues, would be good to sale out of uk but fly/cruise fine too for the right trip. Thought we would try 7-9 days first time round (might be tempted to throw a moody teenager over board if he hates it and we've got 2 wks to go! (only joking). Having said that the longer cruises seem to offer the most interesting destinations? Over to you.. Thanks so much to those who have replied - checking out Ocean Village .
I am almost certain that if you choose Royal Caribbean (probably the best)or Princess the boys will have so much to do with the younger persons programmes that they run and your elder lad if he doesn't do that could join in all the sports activities throughout the day. I have never seen moody kids on board. Caribbean cruises are as cheap as Med ones and the extra excitement of going somewhere as different on a 9 day would convert them and to be honest if I was travelling that far I wouldn't go for less than 14 days. Hot weather, warm water and fascinating islands, loads to do on board and all they can eat...what more could they want...if you choose a destination we can give more advice should you want it, I don't think that you should hesitate but one word of warning ....if they like it as much as I think they will it could be expensive in the future. Cruising should come with an addiction warning....Nei.
