We have experienced times between 5 and 14 days prior to you leaving the UK to join the ship. Sometime the delays are due to upgrades as a ship unlike a hotel moves you up and fills the staterooms below, but if worried contact your travel agent or whoever you booked with. This last cruise we were due to leave on the Friday and our tickets came on the Tuesday, but we had an upgrade to a suite with a butler, but it is not always this good.
