No flossy they don't however you and your credit card company do, I don't suggest you stretch it to its limit or you may have the bailiff waiting for you when you get back :.

Simply put, yes. They claim an amount as a guarantee. If your card supplier rejects the claim, then they will contact you pronto. (Standard hotel practice). When your bill is finally paid the guarantee is annulled.
