Hello.... All of the Baltic ports can be explored on foot and indeed some of them are best done that way, ports like Copenhagen, Stockholm, Helsinki and Tallinn are easy but the occasional shuttle into the centre is worth it. The fact that you have a mini suite will only enhance your experience and give you more breathing space and facilities. You will all enjoy it ....Id.

We sailed on the Norweigen Jewel in August 2007 to the Med. Although the ship is a lot more 'colourful' than the previous ones we've cruised with (Princess, P & O & Orient Line), we thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. The food was very good, the outdoor eating area at the stern was a delight & the cabin was extremely comfortable. We cruised to the Baltic 5 years ago on the Marco Polo (Orient Line). It was certainly worth spending the time to organise our own Visas for Russia. The cost then was about £30 each. We took a taxi from the ship to St. Petersburg to the Hermitage (you are not allowed to exit the docks on foot yourself). The taxi was not expensive. We then caught a local bus to the Peterhoff Palace (all this cost a fraction of the price of the organised excursions). We commenced the cruise in Copenhagen. This was walkable to the centre as was Tallin in Estonia, Helsinki in Finland and also Stockholm in Sweden. Each of these ports was a delight, particularly Tallin. I can't comment on taking a baby aboard as we are 'empty nesters'.

Yes, people do cruise with their babies. Last year, we were with NCL Jewel (but different route), there were 32 babies on board.
